This is the most wonderful find. It is so unusual and we have never had one like it before.
This old ship's light is made of brass, with the glass moulded into the inside, blown as one piece.
Typically yellow maritime lights indicates that the ship is towing another ship. This may have been used for that purpose or perhaps it is an old cabin light. It was more than likely lit using kerosene.
It would look stunning sitting over a small battery powered light at night, or hung in a position to catch the light during the day.
